GOALS
Using technology responsibly as a tool to expand our reach into knowledge is the goal in room 209. Student: Our atmosphere is one of respect and safety. We are becoming like a family in the class, with true compassion and understanding for one another. Peers: I would like to be a contributor of ideas with all the other staff as well as learn from them. It is my hope that we are a cohesive unit of teachers that work and learn together. |
BioI graduated from Porterville High and continued on with my education at Fresno Pacific University. From there I received my bachelor’s degree in Kinesiology in 2007. After that I taught pre-school for a year and was amazed at the enjoyment I found in working with such young children. I followed that experience by working with k-6 in the afterschool programs and substitute teaching for 3 years. Then I began working with the special needs students and being involved inside the classroom seeing the day to day adventures taking place. Next, I found my home in Jim Maples Academy and taught the 6th grade for 2 ½ years there. I am excited to be given the opportunity to continue teaching the 6th grade here at Buckley!
I am from the Porterville area, as is all of my family. I do not have any children but I adore my nephews more than anything. I am active in their lives which include playing water polo at PHS and swimming for the Neptunites. I also have a love of sports, which my classroom will reveal to you. I have been involved in coaching baseball and softball for the city in the junior giants program. I have also been found out there refereeing the soccer games. I guess I just can’t get enough teaching, in and out of the classroom! I look forward to this year with my students. I can’t wait to see how far we can reach this year and how much I learn from them. I truly hope to accomplish building great character and being amazed at the feats my class can achieve together. We may enter as individuals but I hope we leave feeling like a family! |
